Humbled.

It has been one of the most humbling and spiritual weeks of my mission so far!

It all began on Monday, when I got to meet one of the most incredible people in the world. A cute member of our ward told us about a woman in the English ward that wanted sisters to visit her (because there are only elders in her ward, and they can't visit her). We set up and appointment and went to her house a few days later. As we began to talk, she told us how her 16 year old daughter had died a few weeks ago and they don't know why. It was completely unexpected. It hit her family hard, especially her because they were best friends.
We sat and talked with her for about three hours and during that time, the spirit testified to me of the plan of salvation. Because our Heavenly Father is so loving, he has given us a way to see those that we love again. The gospel brings us the hope that we couldn't have had otherwise. Like I noticed a few weeks ago, I again saw how big of a difference it makes to have a knowledge of the gospel in times of tragedy.
One other thing that really caught my attention was the attitude of this sister. She is obviously heartbroken at the loss of her daughter, but she was still able to find blessings and things to be grateful for. Sometimes our Heavenly Father lets things happen so that we can experience things and grown in ways that we couldn't have otherwise.
It was such a privilege for me to meet this family. Being around them has blessed my life so much.

From Tuesday until Friday, NOTHING worked out. Each investigator that we went to see either cancelled or wasn't home. We tracted every day, but nothing seemed to come from it. By Friday, we were both a little discouraged. We have both had a day where nothing has gone as planned every once in a while, but it has never been four days in a row! Friday night as I prayed, I was reminded that I can't do this alone and that I need to depend on my Heavenly Father a little more and trust Him.
Saturday came, and we experienced a tender mercy! One of the people that we had met tracting days before, let us into her house and we were able to teach her the restoration. She has invited us back, and we have really good feelings about her. Heavenly Father was aware of us. He always is!

Two of our investigators also have dates! They will be baptized on April 11th! We are so excited for them!

I am so grateful for the gospel and for this time that I have to share it with others! I am also grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who is placing people in my pathway that are changing my life! I love being a missionary!

Love,
